One of the prettiest places I've been is Sanibel Island, Florida. It's also where my Mom lives. It's a small island located off the Gulf side of Florida, about 50 minutes northwest of Ft. Myers. It has some of the most beautiful white-sand beaches anywhere. It's known for its shells and the Sanibel stoop, where beachcombers, hunched over with pails in hand, search for the perfect shell.
I went to see my Mom this spring. I walk on the beach, both in the morning and at sunset, when the light is most dramatic. I came across these chairs on the beach, so inviting, so lonely. They seemed at the ready for a two some wanting to watch the sun set in hopes of capturing a glimpse of the infamous green flash.
