Say hi to Yoda, the George Lucas created character in Star Wars. He sits on top of a foundation in front of the Letterman Digital Arts Center in San Francisco’s Presidio, and it’s here you can find the collection of Lucas-owned companies, including Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), LucasArts, and Lucasfilm’s marketing, online, and licensing units.
In 1999, George Lucas won the development rights to build here, and in 2005, the Great Lawn and the Letterman Digital Arts Center officially opened. In the back is a Starbucks, otherwise known and our second living room.
I’m a member of Producers Guild of America (the PGA, not to be confused with the Professional Golf Association since I'm lousy at golf), and on occasion I go see moving screeners in this facility. It’s always a treat. And en route, I get to pay homage to Yoda who greets me every time.
