We just got into spring, but already I have summer fever. We're headed to Cape Cod this summer, where beach plums like this abound. I can't wait. For you Californians, beach plums can be found along the Eastern coast from Maine to Maryland. They can endure cold water and are salt-water tolerant. Can you eat them? Indeed. You can make jam out of them. Never have though. I think they're just pretty to look at. They're the namesake for many a town as well, including Plum Island, Massachusetts and Plum Island, New York.
